Dharma

The word 'Dharma' does not mean 'duty'. In duty there is no freedom; in reason there is freedom; and in religious obligation there is the union between duty and reason. Dharma, then, refers to religious obligation and in that word are the concepts of both duty and reason.

Dharma is a sanskrit word that means righteousness or duty.

This word can mean several things in different context. Basically what I understood of it is 'the correct way of doing things', which then becomes one's duty because it is the right thing to do.

My post does not explain wholly what Dharma means, it is just a phrase that I came across that relates to me at that moment in time. A lot of soul searching and self inquiry needs to be done to fully understand the word Dharma, and then putting it into practise. :)
